Small Talk offers four programs, each providing therapeutic preschool instruction and play. Two specialized educators lead each class. Our Speech–Language Pathologist consults with educators and participates in class.

PROGRAM BLUE

Tuesday – Friday, 9:00 am – 11:30am

Educators promote the acquisition of functional language across all daily activities with a focus on useful vocabulary, short phrases and short sentences. Children are assisted with purposeful play and socialization.

PROGRAM YELLOW

Tuesday – Friday, 1:00pm – 3:30pm

Building on a child’s existing functional language skills, educators promote the acquisition of more descriptive vocabulary and expanded sentences. Opportunities are created for cooperative peer play. Pre-literacy awareness is also targeted.

PROGRAM RED

Educators promote verbal problem-solving and reasoning skills and support the development of social and narrative language and play skills. Children are offered a print-rich environment and sound-play opportunities to foster early literacy development.

PROGRAM GREEN

Educators promote the use of more complex vocabulary, language, narrative, and early literacy abilities, along with more advanced play and social skills. This Program is designed to help prepare children for success in Kindergarten participation.
